Montrose Environmental Group buys Environmental Standards Inc.

Montrose Environmental Group has acquired Environmental Standards Inc., a Valley Forge, PA-based environmental consultancy.

Founded in 1987, Environmental Standards provides services across environmental chemistry, consulting geosciences, environmental data management, emergency response quality assurance oversight, auditing, and health and safety support. The firm works with clients in oil and gas, utilities, chemical, industrials, mining, real estate, landfills, and government.

Environmental Standards has more than 100 people across offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maine, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, New Mexico, and Washington.

Montrose’s acquisition of Environmental Standards will bolster the firm’s assessment, permitting, and response segment.

“The addition of Environmental Standards allows Montrose to further strengthen our chemistry and auditing services, adding technical depth, new capabilities and strong talent complementary to our current operations in the East Coast,” said Joshua LeMaire, COO of Montrose. “The industry and its peers recognize Environmental Standards as one of the country’s top environmental consulting firms and we are excited to welcome Rock and the entire Environmental Standards team to our growing Montrose family.”

Montrose is a Little Rock, AR-headquartered environmental consulting firm with more than 2,500 people across 75+ locations in the US, Canada, and Australia. The firm works with commercial and government clients on engagements spanning air measurement and laboratory services, regulatory compliance, emergency response, permitting, engineering, and remediation.

“Montrose’s expansive scientific and analytical capabilities, complementary services and global footprint will allow us to deepen our existing client relationships and create new ones within the core industries we serve,” Rock Vitale, CEO of Environmental Standards, said. “We are excited to join Montrose and begin collaborating with our new colleagues on tackling larger and ever-more challenging client engagements.”
